# Printing a complete controller

Download one controller 3MF from the configurator and open it as a project in ElegooSlicer. It contains 32 printed pieces across multiple 256 x 256 mm plates: nine top panels, nine bottom panels and fourteen braces. Hardware, buttons and electronics are not printable components and are not included. See ASSEMBLY.md for assembly and hardware details.

Select your actual printer, nozzle, build plate and filament profiles after import. The project contains geometry, named materials and plate assignments, not G-code. Temperature, speeds, supports, purge settings and local solid infill around insert pockets still need checking in the slicer. Physical fit and adhesion have not been print-tested.

## Colors

Artwork-background and structure are separate material roles. The face artwork occupies the first 0.8 mm. The enclosure above it, the underside and the braces use the structure role. The background/structure boundary is displaced 0.00001 mm above the artwork cap solely to prevent coincident-vertex mesh issues; it has no practical effect on the layer schedule. With 0.20 mm initial and subsequent layers, only the first four layers of a top panel contain artwork.

The website matches equal hex swatches to one logical filament. Different roles remain separately named and can be reassigned in the slicer. If you change the structure to a new fifth color on a four-color artwork plate, that plate exceeds CANVAS capacity. Use an existing artwork color for structure, or assign two artwork colors to one spool. The configurator checks every plate and blocks a download exceeding four distinct swatches on any plate.

The full project may have five or more filaments. Each plate uses a subset. Before printing a plate, load the spools it needs and map its logical filaments to the physical CANVAS bays. Logical filament 5 does not mean CANVAS needs a fifth bay. Print plates as separate jobs and reload between them when necessary.

## First print

Start with one top panel. Keep the artwork face down, do not mirror, and preserve all color subparts as one object. Use 0.20 mm initial and normal layers with at least four solid bottom layers. Inspect Preview by filament: after 0.8 mm only structural material should be present in the panel. Check that the entire insert-floor region and pads have solid infill, using modifiers as necessary. Retain normal flushing until color contamination has been tested, particularly when switching dark filament to white.

The plate layout reserves margins but does not guarantee space for every possible support, brim or purge-tower setting. Inspect the complete sliced plate before sending it. These files target the multi-plate metadata used by ElegooSlicer/OrcaSlicer; other slicers may require rearranging objects onto plates.
